Wedding statistics, The Wedding ReportThere were more than 2 million weddings in the U.S. in 2012, according to The Wedding Report, Inc., a research company that tracks and forecasts wedding trends for the wedding industry. Here in the state of Florida, a popular wedding destination, there were 140,000 weddings that same year.

Lee County, Florida, with its beautiful white sandy beaches served as the location for more than 4,000 weddings. Here’s a breakdown of national and state statistics as well as two popular Southwest Florida counties — Lee County (Fort Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach) and Collier County (Naples, Barefoot Beach, Marco Island, Vanderbilt Beach) from the 2012 report:

United States

Number of weddings: 2,142,722

Average cost: $25,656

Market value: $55 Billion

Average number of guests: 126-136

 

Florida

Number of weddings: 140,467

Average cost: $23,087

Market value: $3.2 Billion

Average number of guests: 117-127

 

Lee County, Florida

Number of weddings: 4,383

Average cost: $24,434

Market value: $107 million

Average number of guests: 133-143

 

Collier County, Florida

Number of weddings: 2,711

Average cost: $8,298

Market value: $77 million

Average number of guests: 157-167
