Choosing your hairstyle sounds like a simple decision to some but for other brides it may make their heads spin. No one wants a bad hair day on the day of the wedding. How can you avoid it? What should you do — or not do?
Talking to your stylist can help lift the burden. They can help guide you through some things to consider.
Meet with your stylist during the planning process and be sure to communicate clearly what you want. This is your special day. Do you prefer your hair up or does it make you uncomfortable? Your stylist will also want to know the theme and colors of your wedding. You may want a different style for an outdoor rustic wedding than you would for an elegant wedding in a cathedral.
The color and theme can be incorporated into hair accessories from a simple flower to an ornate tiara. Your makeup and nails can also reflect the theme — from basic to bold!
Once you decide on your hairstyle, you should do at least one trial run. Ideally, schedule your hair appointment on a day when you can try on your dress. Then you’ll see how the hairstyle works with the dress. Make sure to set up an appointment for the wedding day to make sure your stylist is available.
You’ll also want to set an appointment about a week before the wedding for any color touch-ups or trims that need to be made. You could make a spa day out of it. Get a treatment to strengthen your hair and make it shine, get your nails done and enjoy a massage while you’re there. Why not get rid of some of the pre-wedding stress by taking this opportunity to pamper yourself.
